As the sun-drenched season of Summer 2025 approaches, the world of weddings is seeing a bold evolution. We turned to some of the industry's most sought-after experts to uncover what couples are dreaming of for their wedding celebrations. From lush floral moments to immersive experiences and a fresh new take on color, here’s what’s defining the season ahead.
A New Era of Experience
Semia from Flowers by Semia shares that weddings are no longer just about beauty - they are about experiences.
"This season, experiential weddings are everything!!!! It's not just about a really delicious, curated meal or an abundance of floral. Couples want their guests to truly experience their environments with interactive food, engaging atmospheres, and truly elevated entertainment experiences etc. It's about being entertained throughout the entire event, from start to finish."
At iconic venues across New England, she’s seeing celebrations channeling the opulence of The Great Gatsby era.
"In New England, we often see a return to The Great Gatsby. As we do so much work in Newport, RI where nationally renowned magnificent mansions define the coastal landscape, you often see celebrations that want to emphasize the aesthetic of the Gatsby time period."
On the tablescape front, color is stepping confidently into the spotlight.
"Colorful tapers and pillars are the norm now, and thank goodness! They elevate our floral designs in a way that allows for more opportunity for color and texture. They are as integral in the table design as the table setting and linens themselves."

Personalization at Every Turn
Nicole of Atelier Amarise echoes the shift toward deeply personal celebrations.
"Rather than seeing defined 'trends,' I’m noticing couples gravitating toward style groups that reflect their personalities and shared stories. Personalization is the biggest priority — everyone wants their wedding to feel unmistakably them."
She shares a glimpse into the diverse and deeply personal ways her couples are celebrating:
"One of my couples is planning a romantic garden ceremony with soft pinks, peonies, and classic florals, followed with bold, Mexican-inspired design at an Italian restaurant with vibrant oranges and greens botanicals. Another couple is leaning into an editorial, all-white aesthetic, while a third is blending tradition with modernity — opting for a traditional South Indian ceremony and a Bangalore restaurant-inspired reception. It’s all about thoughtful details that feel honest and expressive."
And when it comes to candlelight, Nicole is seeing classics:
"White and ivory remain popular choices — they’re classic, versatile, and pair beautifully with neutral or earthy palettes. I’ve also used yellow taper candles to bring a soft, sunlit warmth to summer tablescapes."

Playful, Whimsy, and a Nostalgic Twist
Chey and Ashley of Wildbud Floral Co are seeing couples embrace color and carefree elegance, fitting for the season:
"This summer, we at Wildbud Floral Co are seeing couples lean into a lot more color—think bold, playful palettes that reflect a sense of fun and personality. We're seeing a move away from super traditional styles in favor of more laid-back, nature-inspired events with a whimsical twist. It's all about creating a joyful, memorable experience, not just following the classic wedding playbook."
When it comes to inspiration, they note a return to vibrant decades:
"Definitely! The '70s and '80s are making a comeback, especially for couples wanting that spirited, party atmosphere. Think retro fonts, funky florals, and a little nostalgic flair that brings the fun vibes front and center."
And candles remain essential for setting the mood:
"Tapered candles are still a go-to—classic and elegant, they truly never go out of style. As far as colors, couples are mixing it up with bright hues and soft pastels depending on the overall vibe of the day. Whether it’s colorful for a bold tablescape or muted tones for a dreamy dinner, candles are still very much having their moment."

The Season of Color
Cecilia of Primrose & Willow Floral Studio is seeing a thrilling embrace of color unlike any season before.
"I’m seeing so much more colour for this upcoming wedding season! Much more than I’ve previously encountered in my 8 years of business. It’s an exciting time when you get to work with various types of flowers and colour palettes but everyone seems to be embracing colour for sure!"
Design influences are pivoting toward the sleek, sculptural beauty of mid-century modern:
"I’m starting to see a rise in the mid-century modern design with regards to wedding flowers. Brides don’t want to include greenery in their bouquets and they’re opting for a minimal bouquet with structured tropicals such as cascading orchids and heart-shaped anthuriums."
And for candlelight, new hues are stepping in:
"First time I’ll be seeing colours such as peach being used for wedding this year! To be fair, it works amazingly for this couple’s citrus/sunset colour palette they’re going with. Taper candles are still the #1 most requested type of candle right now. I don’t think that’s going away any time soon."
This summer, weddings are not just events - they are living, breathing works of art, full of personal stories, rich design, and meaningful moments. Whether inspired by the glamour of Gatsby’s roaring parties, the intimacy of a cultural celebration, or the colorful illumination of beeswax candles, one thing is certain: Summer 2025 weddings will set the standard for years to come - a vibrant fusion of tradition, individuality, and artistry.
